Slippery

Brand: Darling Clandestine

Scent Description: Though it has a limited fanbase, this might be one of my favorites in recent years. Wet and spicy, cool and pointy, and other jostled adjectives. Crushed calla lily, cornsilk, wasabi, a quartet of grasping lichens. A really dynamite “upscale” drydown.

  1. This reads as a cool blue-green. Cornsilk is a note I absolutely adore and I unfortunately can’t really pick it out here, but I can see its influence. It’s starchy and green and almost a little grassy. The lichens are wet and cold, somehow managing to make even wasabi a bit chilly (but still musky-hot. It’s…tough to explain). Overall, a bit sweet, a touch aquatic, and very much so in the “cool green” scents category. Interesting and wearable, surprisingly inoffensive even, though with little throw or longevity.
