Brand: Alkemia
Scent Description: Red and golden ambers infused with a bottle of fine cognac liqueur, a suede waistcoat hurriedly abandoned on an antique chair, a haphazard tangle of bergamot scented linen sheets, cardamon-hashish coffee, and a cedar lined cigar humidor.
In the bottle, smells harsh and astringent (I let the bottle rest for more than a week)
On my skin though smells much nicer.
Citrus and cedar really come through for me, brightly at first though well balanced.
Stays that way for about 20-30 minutes then the suede comes into play interacting with the citrus and cedar. Only occasionally do I get an aftershave note, which I thibk is the cognac trying to come through. Smells very clean and pleasant.
About 3 hours in, dries down to a very light skin scent of woods.
I would have given it a 2/10 straight out of the bottle, but on my skin I would give it a 6/10.
My skin chemistry definitely brought out the best in this.
The ambers are really present in this fragrance, and honestly all I can smell. I can maybe get a little bit of the humidor note, but it’s elusive for sure
