Scent Description: A captivating blend of White Amber, Sugar Cane, and Creamy Florals, awakened by warm caresses of Autumnal Spices, Golden Musk, Apple Peel, Sugar Pumpkin, Jasmine Tea, and a whisper of wild Forest Mosses and Precious Woods.
Lots of pumpkin and spice. Some of the other notes keep it from veering off into straight up pumpkin pie spice, but it’s still there a little bit.
This is one of my favorites. I don’t get the moss, but I do get the jasmine tea and it’s pretty spot on and lovely. The amber, pumpkin, and apple sweeten the fragrance and the spices balance it out to my nose. Some get straight up, screechy “I AM PUMPKIN SPICE!” from this, but I don’t. I find it to sort of be “Foxfire with a pumpkin spice twist” on me.
A year and a half of aging later:
If you wanted to like Ghost Fire or Foxfire but found they wanted something, you might like Vixen. To my nose, it’s a less-sweet Foxfire with a twist. I don’t smell much spice at all, or the moss. When it’s brand new, I mostly get creamy, ambery, pumpkin that’s a bit sweet with a little jasmine tea. After it ages a few months the jasmine tea comes forward some and the sweetness calms down a little further to allow a hint of spice to peek through. I think some of the sweetness is the apple peel? I also think this is the only apple-containing perfume I’ve had any luck with.
Vixen is light enough for warmer weather, and cozy enough for hotter fall days (or if you’re going to be in a hot room, e.g. with a co-worker who keeps the thermostat at 90 or have lots of heat-producing equipment in the building).
My first impressions are the pumpkin, apple, and (gentle) autumn spices. On the drydown the tea and florals peek out. This is so delicate and feminine, but also cozy! I didn’t think I would like this one as much as I do.
I notice the Amber and the musk the most, but the jasmine is lingering around. Smells kind of soapy.
