Brand: Epically Epic

Scent Description: Piñon needles, lichen-covered cedar trees, black earth, and ponderosa pines with their unique vanilla scented bark. For a long time I have wanted to capture the scent of hiking in the New Mexico mountains when, above a certain elevation, the desert turns to rocky, lush, ponderosa pine forest. The Jemez is a range of (volcanic!) mountains to the Northwest of Santa Fe.

  1. I love this scent so much I’ve bought it in all four formats – and I wish it was available in more formats. It is one of the only forest/Southwestern scents that has ever worked on me, and I have purchased quite a few. I have tried the Solstice Scents and Arcana forest/Southwestern scents, but usually the conifer scent disappears on me very quickly and the base notes of amber or vanilla are all that are left. There is a vanilla undertone to Jemez but it never becomes a single note vanilla scent on me. Highly recommended!

  2. Very vanillic/fruity interpretation of pinon and ponderosa pine with a strongly green dirt/lichen note. It almost smells edible, oddly enough. Note a bad scent, but it’s really much better in the lotion format than in the perfume.

  3. It is a combination of the piñon/fir needle/cedar with a little dirt and enough vanilla is soften the edges and round it out so you don’t smell like a straight up forest. I love this one. If you like Solstice Scents perfumes with piñon such as Desert Thunderstorm or Wolf Spirit (she lists the note as ‘pinyon’), I’d really recommend trying this. Excellent longevity!
