Brand: Haus of Gloi

Scent Description: Lemon cake made with the tang of fresh buttermilk and raspberry coulis – an otherwise innocent cake corrupted by cardamom and deceptive pink peppercorns.

  1. I have Beguiled in both the perfume oil and PB formats. This review is based off of the Pumpkin Butter. As I was slathering away, the smell of Beguiled reminded me of something from my childhood. After a few minutes it hit me…this smells like Trix cereal. Do they still make Trix? I’ll have to see if I can find a box the next time I hit the grocery store. It’s strange but all of the listed notes morph into dead on Trix cereal. The same smell in the jar as on my skin. It’s unchanging yet fleeting on me. Hopefully I’ll get better results layering but, Beguiled is a pretty much undetectable after the first hour to my nose. Is it my scent eating skin? Is it the fact that it’s a citrus scent and they fade the fastest? The lemon in this bad boy really works with my skin chemistry. Many lemon scents seem to go to cleaner on me. For example, my chemistry doesn’t get along with Hexennacht’s lemon notes but, it does with Possets. Why this is I’ll never know. I wish this stuck around longer on my skin. If you like Solstice Scents Chiffon, Alkemia’s Sadzi, Possets Vernal Sun, Nui Cobalt’s Poppycock and other sugary citrus scents then I think you will dig Beguiled for sure. And this would layer so well with so many things. I’ve been very into citrus and patchouli lately. This is listed under HoG’s Summer scents but I’d rock this scent year round. Does anybody else get the association of Trix from Beguiled? It can’t just be me!

  2. Wow, talk about lemon! This is so good. On my skin, I get a LOT of lemon cake with buttercream, and the raspberry sort of floats on top. The pepper gets totally lost on me. This is a beautiful summer scent. Wear time is medium, 4-6 hours
