Scent Description: In the ancient days the time when you first woke up in the middle of the night was believed to be the most creative and that conscious blended with unconscious to form magically good writing and thinking. Moreover, the time of the first sleep was marked by people visiting each other and thought to be the very best time of all to make love. White musk sets the stage for softest rose and light mint, Somehow the ingredients come together and make a new entity very totally unlike the components which make it up. Dry and calm but still bright and not at all melancholy.

Notes: lemon, cardamom and vanilla
Priya means beloved in Nepali. When I first applied Priya to my skin, it smelled predominantly of lemons. The cardamom is coming across in the vein of ginger to my nose. It’s a faint underlying note that makes the lemon smell a bit candied but not straight up gourmand. Cardamom is the first note to fade and the vanilla comes in to the picture. Priya sort of reminds me of Madame X and Flossing…minus the creamy waxy notes. And Priya is much more lemon dominant than Madame X and Flossing. Similar to Vernal Sun without the white musk and summer fruits. Lemon notes can go to cleaner on me and vanillas can turn artificial and plastic on my skin but Possets lemon and vanilla notes really jive with my skin chemistry. Priya settles into a soft sweet lemony vanilla scent that stays close to the skin on me. It lasts between 4 to 5 hours on my scent eating skin but much longer on my clothing. I have trouble getting citrus notes to stick around on my skin so 4 to 5 hours of wear is pretty good for me. If you enjoy Possets vanilla and lemon notes then I don’t think you can go wrong with Priya. The lemon in this also reminds me a bit of the lemon in Solstice Scents Chiffon. This has some great layering potential if I want to boost my other citrus and vanilla perfume oils. And call me crazy but I’d love to layer this with some of my aged patchouli oils and see what happens. I’m very into patch and citrus right now.

Notes: grapefruit, sandalwood and cardamom
I never would’ve thought that cardamom works with grapefruit but it does in Srijana. The grapefruit note in this is so good. It doesn’t have the longevity on my skin like Dance With Me. That being said, Srijana is still pretty good for a citrus note on me. I like sandalwood with orange but I think I prefer sandalwood and grapefruit now. On me this wears as predominantly grapefruit forward sandalwood with hints of cardamom. Possets used a light hand with the cardamom note but it’s definitely there. I’m not sure I would pick up on it without already knowing it was in Srijana’s notes. I wish that the sandalwood and cardamom stood up better to the grapefruit but that’s probably how my skin chemistry rolls. It’s the dead of winter right now with a wind chill in the negative digits and I find that the citrus in Srijana very uplifting in the cold weather. I can’t say enough good things about the grapefruit note in this…not too bitter, not going into cleaner territory (the way so many citrus smells do on me) and it’s not too sweet. I feel like Goldilocks but with grapefruit! Srijana is part of Possets collaboration with TTEOTE. Srijana means creativity in Nepali. Srijana definitely makes it into my top 3 grapefruit scents (the other 2 being Possets Dance With Me and Whisper Sisters Pink Monkey Bird).

Notes: sage, black pepper and a complex Nepali Musk accord.
If you’re a fan of musks, I recommend that you try out Rimi. I have a ton of musk perfumes and the musk note in Rimi is unique. It’s definitely the star of the show here. It almost wants to go towards powdery chypre territory but not quite. It’s hard to explain but I really like that musk note. On my skin this is a musk forward herbal scent. Sage can be very pungent and completely hijack a perfume oil on my skin but, that never happens when I wear Rimi. Something in this reads as almost minty at times. I swear that I can smell lavender (more herbal vs floral) in the background. I find Rimi to be both grounding and relaxing. The musk in this reminds me of something my Dad wore in the late 80’s or early 90’s…some kind of aftershave or cologne but the name escapes me. I wonder if anyone else knows the scent I’m talking about? This is going to bother me until I can remember the name! Again the musk in this blend is special. It smells better and better as it wears on my skin. Musky, herbal, almost powdery. On a side note, Rimi means beautiful woman in Nepali.
