  1. If the Hulu show Harlots had a themed perfume, it would be this. It’s definitely got that makeup vibe but the grapefruit keeps it from being too serious. One of my staples.

  2. I can see the appeal of this scent, but it was not for me. It was quite heavy, waxy and floral, and slightly too sharp. The lipstick accord was interesting, but I don’t necessarily want to smell like it. This scent reminded me of a drag queen in a long purple dress, putting on a ton of powder right before hitting the stage.

  3. I’ve tried all the mainstream lipstick scents but there was always a sharpness I didn’t care for. I’m not getting that in Bruise Violet it’s also not overly powdery. Not gourmand but enough sweetness to it that I bought a bottle. Will enjoy this in spring/ summer.

  4. I definitely get the red lipstick and dusting powder. It smells like what a movie star in the 40’s would wear. Waxy and powdery and lots of violet. If that’s your speed, then go for it. Not for me, ultimately.
