I was looking forward to this one, but it smells like old hotel soap to me. I truly wonder if I got a bad batch. It doesn’t smell like any of the scent notes to me. I love so many other S92 scents.
Nice, the bread note adds to the cozy feel
Wet on my skin, this opens up as pitch, and nothing but pitch…strong enough to make me wish I hadn’t tried it.
However, the dry down is glorious!
This wonderful yeasty smell of a freshly baked and sliced crusty bread comes out with a very heady smoke smell cut by a sharp orange.
Much later the bread fades somewhat, and I can smell tea leaves, but the smokey smell is still dancing.
My husband tried this as well, and the opening wet note of pitch was the same, but his dry down was different than mine. He only got a very faint yeasty smell, but instead the tea came out very prominently with the orange, and the orange on him was sweet while mine was sharp.
Both of ours kept that smoky smell to end as all the other notes faded.
Loved everything except that opening note.
Something about this really reminds me of the opening of Mercy Lewis, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. I think it might be the tea? Sarah Good smells like smoke and orange pastries to me, a smidge of almond oil, and a healthy dose of maple. After it has completely dried down, I get hints of something dark and a bit musky, but it never comes to fruitation.
Burning maple syrup and bread
At first, it smells like unsweetened orange bread (a bit burned) with tea. After the bread fades an smoky incense-y (maybe the pitch?) smell comes out with excellent sillage and longevity. Sarah Good is one of my favorite perfumes (definitely in my top five).
