I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this scent. Upon application, the first note I can pick out is the black leather note and it smells artificial to me. I’m fairly new to leather scents and I’m not sure if my skin chemistry jives well. I LOVE the amber blend in this. So many ambers go powdery on me but not this one. If there’s any vanillas in this then they don’t show up for me. About fifteen minutes or so into the wear time the artificial leather note disappears. In it’s place, the most wonderful smoky note seems to bloom from the amber blend. Where is this coming from? Is this the leather note doing this? Is it one of the ambers? I just can’t figure it out. The final stage of this on me is an awesome dark smoky amber.
One of my favourites from SS. The leather is a rich buttery suede and the vanilla more floral than gourmand, the same vanilla as in Lace Draped Spectre. Not much amber but just enough to support the vanilla and stop the leather from leaning too masculine. If you iike LDS, Black Leather is worth a try.
