Upon first receiving a sample and immediately testing it without rest, I recoiled in revulsion. This was one of the worst perfumes I’d ever smelled. After it rested for several weeks (simply because I had no desire to revisit that horror), I decided to give this fragrance another shot. I still don’t care for it, but notice an improvement. Dusty, stale, waxy honey, a strange sourness, smoke, a starchy, savory, slightly burnt gourmand note, and subtle hardware store fumes. Very peculiar. As it dries down, it becomes sweeter, and to me, more tolerable. I get more resins, spices, and toasted, salted, honeyed oats and rice. When the spice wears off? Urinous honey. It’s a journey. Do I hate it? Difficult to say.
I was looking for a true beeswax scent, and wow, this is that and so much more. The opening for me is buttery caramel corn, almost too sweet to bear. But over the next few hours, it evolves into a mellow, earthy honey, eventually settling in as a nutty, putty, sensual beeswax. It is so beautiful at that stage, with light animalic sensuality. It is comforting, warm, and lovely. The longevity is great, but I like mellow skin scents and don’t need projection to be happy. I am shocked to have found this and am excited to try more concoctions from Hexxenacht.
Received a free sample size from a friend that didn’t plan to use it. Her chemistry never works with honey scents, they instantly go sour in an almost rancid way, poor thing.
Out of the bottle I was dubious, it was a very strong sweet-smokey-oaty scent that didn’t really find personally appealing. Then I dabbed it on my wrists and rubbed together..woah..never had a perfume change that much on me!
I smelled like a summer honey cake sprinkled with cinnamon. It’s soo sultry and heady. Actually mouth-watering. Next best thing is that I can continue to catch whiffs all day, I seem to never become completely nose blind to it! And the next best after that? I can still smell it on the skin 24 hours later! No joke. I shower in the mornings and this perfume applied just after, is still amazingly present the next morning before washing again.
Absolutely a lifetime buyer found. I can’t believe I found myself a favourite perfume, when I am not really a perfume person.
On first sniff, this is ultra-rich, sweet, deep, sticky honey. I can practically feel it drizzling, all decadent and seductive. The rice, almond, sugar, and oats keep it squarely in the foodie realm to my nose, though I feel like the amber, musk, and cedarwood are what’s adding that depth I get on first impression. It’s nice. I keep huffing it. It could be complex enough that I may not want to layer it, which is always interesting to me. It’s perfume honey. Honey+, if you will. I’m not getting any smoke, so I wonder how that will play out on skin. When I put it on, I lose a lot of what I get in the bottle. It’s devastating. It maintains the identifiable honey, but now it’s atop a huge scoop of cooked of rice with a hint of molasses-y brown sugar mixed in… unfortunately it’s gone nearly one-dimensional. The rice is the main thing on me right at the opening. It’s like the smell of a sweet rice cake snack. It reverts to honey-forward after a few minutes, chewy-sweet and a bit woody underneath. It’s a pretty little true honey scent now, as if I’ve slathered my arm in a local jar. There’s still nothing dark or complex in my impression though, so I find myself wanting a little something more. I start to get some amber/ musk at the end, so that’s welcome. Very much honey all the way through. I would probably pick this up in a swap, but not buy directly. It’s good. It’s a different type of sweetness that would make a good base layer for me. A bit on the nose, but if you’re a honey fanatic, this is all you.
YUM! Smells delicious and sweet and savory and woody and smoky. Complex and hard to describe, really well blended. Just perfect.
This one is interesting, the honey accord is very realistic BUT I’m not the hugest fan of the rice/oats/almond it makes this smell like cereal or crackers. It’s a wonderful honey accord, too bad I don’t like the savory oatmeal/rice base.
