where do I purchase it and how much? I love a strong gardenia smell. suthrngrlz@gmail.com
I had such luck with Carnation Santalum Gold that I decided to try another floral from Bastet’s Garden. Any gardenia scent reminds me of my Grandmother who raised me. I inherited my love of scent from her. Sometimes I’ll try a gardenia scent for nostalgic reasons. I agree with Parrot that this is a non-powdery gardenia note, thank god! I seem to be amping the gardenia and I’m finding it hard to detect the other notes. I was hoping that the Crimson red musk would’ve been much stronger in this blend but it probably all comes down to skin chemistry. This has some decent longevity to it but it’s nowhere near CSG. As far as NA’s Bastet’s Garden collection, I may try one or two more florals just to see what happens. I’ve had my eye on the lotus one (fingers crossed its not powdery) and the lily blend. We shall see. Back to GC…this settles pretty quickly into a gardenia dominant scent with a faint red musk (must be the Crimson) and a breeze of orange flower. It’s pretty but it’s not something I’d usually wear as I seem to gravitate towards scents of the more dark, resinous, smoky and sweet variety. Still, I’m glad that I tried it out. I’d recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a realistic gardenia scent. I think I may have liked this much more had it been more of a red musk forward scent and I didn’t amp the floral aspect so severely. In theory, the notes sounded very complimentary and I can totally see where the creator of this perfume wanted to go with this blend.
Gardenia and orange flower, red musk is present and blends well with the florals.
A very true-to life, fresh, non-powdery gardenia, with a smooth and juicy red musk (Crimson). Where Crimson fails when it is worn in isolation it flourishes as support for other notes. The Crimson does an excellent job of enhancing gardenia’s musky facets and grounding it. Lasts a good long while, it is potent!
