  1. The hope of a good pear scent brought me to the party. On my skin this is a mix of 40% pear and 60% red apple with a little hint of caramel in the background that disappears almost as soon as I catch a whiff. After about 20 minutes it’s all apple and nothing else. Fades away at about 4 hours maximum. I would’ve enjoyed this much more without the apple note. On a positive, the apple note in this didn’t send me into a sneezing jag, so there’s that at least. The search for my dream pear scent continues.

  2. This is a really wonderful, realistic fruit scent. I get juicy pear and apple, with some warmth in the background. I don’t smell the cayenne pepper at all, so I’m sure just a tiny bit is used to help give it that warm feel!

  3. This is pure, juicy ripe pear perfection. It smells the way a pear tastes when it’s just right, when you bite into it and your hand gets sticky from the juice – the kind of pear you wish all pears could taste like. It’s hard for me to really pick up the notes in this one. Everything is perfectly balanced to enhance the pear scent. It’s sweet but not too sweet. After a little while I can smell the caramel, sugar and vanilla, but it just makes me appreciate the concoction even more. There’s a bit of a burnt sugar smell from those notes, and maybe the cayenne? (I can’t emphasize enough the alchemy going on here), that makes me think of late autumn and picking pears in gloves and flannel.

  4. For whatever reason, I expected this to be pretty spicy. It’s not. It is a very mild, sweet pear with a littlle bit of vanilla and creamy sweetness. Eventually, there is the smallest whisper of warmth that I can only assume is the pepper. I will probably try this again before making a final judgment, but overall it seems like a good pear scent that is just a little more interesting than the fruit alone.

  5. I was confused when I first opened my package because it smelled so fruity and this was pretty much an all vanilla and spice order… and duh, it was the soap! I got major apple on that first sniff. I was worried I’d hate this because of my negative reaction to De Falsis Deis, but it’s not bad! Slightly spicy, slightly creamy fruit. I can dig it for a soap for sure, because the fruit seems to stamp down the milk when I use it. I just slapped it on top of what’s left of my And They All Lived Apple-y Ever After sample and they go great together. I assume the milk note in this wouldn’t agree with my skin as it hasn’t in the past, so I wouldn’t order it personally. I think anyone whose skin gets along well with De Falsis Deis would adore this fruity cousin though.
