The carnation is spicy, richly textured and fresh, not your grandmother’s brash powdery flower. The vanilla and sugar notes are present and lend a well-measured dose of sweetness. So yes, CV is very sweet without a doubt, but it is a sugariness that is balanced masterfully with a spicy bite of carnation, and tempered with soft ambery base notes in the background.
Though I would normally associate “cobra” and “venom” with something darker and perhaps incensey, Cobra Venom perfectly describes the scent- there’s a unique sharpness to it that elevates it beyond a typical gourmand floriental. Very feminine yet exotic with a strong personality. Love!
