  1. Unexpectedly this is a Pink Lotus single note on me, it reminds me of Poesie’s Hera but less syrupy sweet, Lotus made more grown up and wearable. It’s a very well blended Lotus, the slightly silty earthy aquatic roots balance out the heady sweetness of the blooms. It’s like sitting next to a Lotus pond on a summers night in South East Asia like Bali or Thailand or Vietnam; beautiful but florals aren’t my style and I wish I’d known before full bottling because I’m really picky about them, they have to be really heavy on resins or amber to warrant staying in my collection and now I’m going to have to go to the bother of destashing.

  2. My favorite of this line! I did not like the original Eternal Cairo, despite the notes being some of my favorites. It struck me as somewhat unbalanced and rough around the edges, and I felt like it was too much of a base note scent. I was surprised when I tried ECA- it is everything wanted from EC! It is sweet, warm, and musky, and has a base of plush resins that support the sweet musks. It’s almost-incensy, but stops right before crossing over into that territory. The overall effect is comforting, with an underlying complexity that is difficult to detect on the first sniff- it’s greater than the sum of its parts. Excellent!
