  1. It’s nice, light cake & lemon. Similar to Haus of Gloi’s Beguiled only Beguiled is stronger and more dense like pound cake, Opalite is more like lemon merengue pie.

  2. To me, this smells like Haus of Gloi’s Birthday Cake with the addition of lemon. I’m not a fan of the lemon in this blend, it reminds me of furniture polish. Luckily the lemon note is the first to fade out on me but I’m not fond of it while it lasts. After the lemon disappears this is a dead ringer for HoG’s Birthday Cake…which is straight up vanilla cake. Opalite lasts around 5 hours on me (lemon dominant for about the first 90 minutes, fading into a vanilla birthday cake aroma) until I can no longer smell it on my skin. Of course it lingers much longer on clothing.

  3. Holy lemons! My initial application is 90% lemons (which almost have a Pledge-like quality) and 10% cake. After about 30 minutes, the cake and ice cream emerge to round out the lemon and add a rich, creamy quality. After a few hours, all I get is soft, lingering cake, which I absolutely love. The initial half hour isn’t my favorite, but the final effect is really lovely. I plan to wear this occasionally around the holidays and a lot more in spring heading into summer.

  4. Interesting. Immediately, I smelled the ice cream, which came across as layered but mostly orange. The cake is not far behind, and it does smell like a sweet and pillowy cake that’s not too sugary. After a few hours, it has settled to a softer cake smell with the barest whisper of spice. I don’t know what that is – Is it the lemon attempting to come out? I don’t smell any citrus specifically anymore, but it still leans more orange than lemon. This is a bit on the weaker side.

  5. This is a super yummy, straight-up, in-your-face foodie. Classic yellow birthday cake, freshly baked, and vanilla ice cream. It’s reminding me of every single work break room party of my life. That’s all I get from it initially though. There’s no lemon. That’s not a complaint either. It’s just the way it is. This is the light side of Dark Sided!, which is in my top 5 from this house. I do like that one better, but I also like them together. Dark Sided! takes the lead at first, but Opalite emerges as it wears and adds this lemon (there it is!) vanilla back drop that I really love. Light and dark united. I’m a total sucker for bakery scents and this one is straightforward and delicious. Its only sin might be that it could lean a little too rich at times. It’s got a classic vibe though, and a bit of nostalgia. I do notice the lemon occasionally later in the wear, but in a light way… sort of like a lemon drizzle on top of the cake. It’s totally sweet, not sour. And the dry down is mostly strong yellow cake alone. It basically becomes one note at the end. As already mentioned, this pairs fantastically with Whizzpopper and I’m planning to use it as a sweet base layer. It took a little convincing, but it’s staying. I’m excited to see what other layering adventures I can have with it.
