Beatrice

Brand: Possets

Scent Description: Beatrice appears very slightly in The Inferno. She was a real woman (Beatrice Portinari) whom Dante met in his life and fell madly in love with. She died when she was only twenty-four. In the Inferno, she is his guide and inspiration through the gloom of Perdition. Her fragrance reflects the simple marvel of true beauty in heart and soul. The Silver base combines with five of the most beautiful musks* which Possets has. This is soft but long lasting, subtle but wraps itself around your mind. There is nothing stirring, jolting, or vulgar about Beatrice and I would say it is a hypnotic sort of a blend. *Skin musk, 2 white musks, “Crystalline” musk, and a grey musk.

  1. If you’re familiar with Possets Silver Base, you can definitely smell it in this. This wears close to the skin but has lasting power. The musky blend has a creamy waxy note to it. To me, the musks in this blend are not offensive and in no way animalic. Animalic/civet scents tend to turn into “cat pee” on my skin. This is a soft clean comforting scent. When I wear this, I find myself continually smelling my wrists. I would consider this one “work friendly” as well.
