Midnight Marquee

Brand: Solstice Scents

Scent Description:

Welcome to the Maine Moon Drive In. For the month of October, Maine Moon will be hosting Midnight Marquee, late night double-features on Fridays and Saturdays. Lot access begins at 11:30. Join us this Friday as we debut “Parlor Trick”, which explores a mystery that has captivated the area for decades.

Midnight Marquee is a dark and mysterious fragrance featuring notes of black musk, gasoline, supple leather, rich Earth, raw tobacco and a touch of moss, crunchy leaves, Foxcroft air and a tiny touch of vanilla musk. If you enjoy our darker, full-bodied fragrances like Devil’s Tongue or Full Dark, don’t miss Midnight Marquee.

Opens with a touch of autumnal Foxcroft air, leaves, gasoline and raw tobacco leaf. The gasoline is definitely detectable and is obvious upon initial application. After a few minutes, it does settle down and blend with the black musk, leather and more. An elegant supple leather and black musk quickly follow the initial opening.. Wafts of Earth and fine aged patchouli are softened by the lightest vanilla musk and a pinch of moss. Rich, moody, atmospheric, dark and smooth. Midnight Marquee seeks to combine the atmosphere of a mysterious film and the late night October drive-in experience. This is a very different scent from our other drive-in perfume called Maine Moon. Maine Moon is another atmospheric which features concessions of root beer, popcorn, caramel and chocolate combined with a strong fall air, dirt, leaves and leather car seats. Midnight Marquee captures a different perspective and atmosphere of this concept.

  1. This one begs for a second chance. It needed a good week or two to settle and even now upon first sniff it has a certain stinky aspect to it, but if you’re willing to look past it… oh how I fell in love with this perfume. Leather tends to go weirdly sweet on me for some reason, but this right here is a true dark no-bs leather with just hint of a fall air. Very masculine I’d say. I don’t get the black musk (thankfully) or gasoline notes (unfortunately).

  2. The gasoline in this mixes with the leather in the most ungodly way. I already don’t like the scent of gasoline, but was intrigued enough by the rest of this description that I gave it a go. This isn’t the leather note in Gibbon’s or any other SS scent I can think of. No, it’s a black leather, freshly tanned and STRONG. Definitely atmospheric and masculine, despite the vanilla musk I KNOW is beneath that gasoline.
