On me, this is primarily a spicy musk. It reminds me of some Old Spice deodorant – a really nice version, don’t get me wrong – but it felt very ‘mainstream masculine’ if that makes sense. More ‘rugged pirate passed out in a pile of spices’ than ‘rugged pirate on the open ocean.’
I found this mostly to be the slightly damp, salt-filled aroma of sea air, with touches of old wood and worn leather floating in and out of awareness. The dominant note, however, is definitely the fresh, crisp sea air. A little more to the perfumey end than a pure atmospheric, but a pretty true aquatic.
