  1. Right away Caffeaum reminds me of Possets Hophead, which is basically ambers and coffee. Caffeaum is sweet while Hophead is dry. In the beginning of wear time on my skin something in Caffeaum comes across as moth balls or an adhesive smell. It’s very off putting to me but only lasts around 15 minutes or so before fading. Once that quirky note fades I smell something akin to almond extract. It’s very faint but it’s there. I guess all of this is due to the amber. Ambers tend to be a wildcard when it comes to my skin chemistry. Of course the coffee note is the first to go and Caffeaum eventually settles into a sweet amber skin scent. I’m not really into this one but I’m glad I tried it out.

***If you’re looking for a great coffee based Alkemia scent then I highly recommend Club des Hashischins. CdH blows Caffeaum out of the water in my opinion and the coffee note in CDH actually sticks around throughout most of the wear time which is pretty much unheard of with coffee based scents.
