God this is lovely. Truly natural peach, toned down like it’s not ripened yet like you want to wait a few more days before taking a bite. There musky warmth comes through as well and keeps it from approaching artificial or candy. It’s a masculine peach.
Sometimes when I wear this I’m like, shrug just peach. Other times I am blown away by how juicy and delicious smelling it is. The skin musk+peach is a dream combo for My Skin But Better.
I’m not a huge fan of fruity/gourmand scents and typically lean for dirty/musky/gasoline scents but I’m obsessed with this! (For reference my favorite two from D+F are ‘half hoping to be eaten by a bear’ and ‘pile of green goo.’) Peach Queen starts off really peachy, kind of like a gummy bear but the skin musk really shines on the dry down. Definitely a must try!
I got no real peach from this. Based on the skin musk note, I expected a similar note to Half Hoping’a woody Iso-E scent, but I don’t get anything remotely similar. What I get is all soap. There is a very bubble bath, blowing bubbles, dish soapy smell. It reminds me of Daisy by Marc Jacobs or Chanel Chance Eau Tendre. It is definitely not a golden kind of smell to me. Very white, or pale pink, and screechy. I did not like this at all.
Editing this to say I was possibly misinformed as to Half Hoping containing Iso-E, as I have recently smelled a single note Iso-E, and while it has similar cedary musky notes, it also has an unpleasant fishy smell to me and smells, ultimately, not like HH. Maybe D+F just uses a different Iso-E, but I honestly have no clue. But if you smelled Enigma by Alkemia and hated it, don’t be afraid to try HH because it’s amazing and so comforting and nice.
Peach shampoo.
Wet, This smells like sweet peach juice with something like iced sweet tea lingering in the back. This makes me think of a sweet peach iced tea. With the dry down the peach is still the dominant note here. I think the musk and amber mellow it down a bit.
