  1. I just recieved “Dark Sided” and it came very well packed together with my other purchases, a handwritten note from Caroline and some really cool stickers:)
I own a selection of chocolate scents (I love chocolate), and the search for a real life moist chocolate cake fragrance is easier said than done.
Dark Sided is not a full gourmand scent rather “semi gourmand”, it has the chocolate note – but the pipe tobacco adds a dark depth to the mix, that almost goes herbal on my skin. I can not get the frosted cheesecake, but there is a sublime buttery note just in the beginning, that fades quite fast. I dont think this is a true to life – chocolate cake scent, the pipe tobacco note is to prominent for this to happen. But, I do like is fragrance very much. It has a dark vibe to it and it makes me think of Pomperipossa, the witch that lures Hansel and Gretchen with chocolate sweets, while she smokes her pipe in her herbal/chocolate garden deep down in the dark forest.

  2. This reminds me a bit of Possets Howl (a favorite of mine). They’re alike but no the same. I would say Howl has more notes to it but the final stages of both are very similar. Dark Sided! on my skin is a 50/50 mix of a deep dark chocolate non-Tootsie Roll note and cardamom (which actually smells more like a patchouli on me). I don’t get any cream cheese frosting nor do I get even the faintest hint of pipe smoke. It’s all good though as I really dig the end result of this on my skin. The longevity of this falls somewhere in the mid range on me at around 6 hours give or take. If I had to pick between Dark Sided! vs Howl, I’d pick Howl. I really do like this one but I just feel that a FS isn’t needed while I have a bottle of Howl.

  3. The richest, best chocolate cake you’ve ever smelled! The cardamom and pipe smoke give it the tiiiiiniest hint of spice and stop it veering sickly- I could eat half this cake in one without feeling sick!

  4. This is a damn fine gourmand. The chocolate cake note is divine, dark and deep. I can practically taste how moist it is. The frosting is accurate, not screaming sugar. The cardamom and pipe smoke work to elevate it beyond foodie. I can’t stop sniffing. It’s just as delicious on application, devil’s food smothered with cardamom frosting, tendrils of smoke licking at its edges. As it dries, the buttery vanilla recedes, and I smell like chocolate cardamom crumbs. Gorgeous!

  5. This has become one of my favourite Hexennacht scents so far. It goes on with a deep caramel vanilla scent that dissipates into something slightly more spicy after a few hours of wear. My only complaint is the scent seems to fade all together after about 6 hours. I purchased the oil version, it is also available with an alcohol base.
