I was hoping for something like a fresh fruity-floral, made fizzy by cream soda, with just a touch of bubblegum.
What I got felt like being thrown into bubblegum hell, with maybe an interlude of grapefruit, before becoming All Bubblegum, All the Time.
Not for me, as much as I wanted it to be.
Yep, every one of these scent notes is there, each taking the forefront like a friggin merry-go-round. The grapefruit, bubblegum, and pink pepper are maybe a little more dominant. Ultimately there’s somethig aspartame-artificially-sweet that I don’t love. The distant throw is a little “fresher,” more cream soda and mimosa. It’s definitely very pink. Strong throw and longevity.
I smell most strongly the grapefruit, with a bit of sass from the passionfruit. The bubblegum is in the background, pumping up the sweetness, and the cream soda is just barely present, adding some creaminess to the sweet fruits. I don’t smell any of the other notes, at least not distinctly, but all blended together this perfume is a delight! I really like sweet fruity scents and am usually not a big fan of cream or cream soda, but I have found an exception to my normal preferences.
Bright, fruity, lightly sweet, pink, and girly. At first, tart pink grapefruit and raspberry are the strongest notes with a little sugared passionfruit, pink pepper, and non-gourmand vanilla to back them up. I absolutely love it at this stage. Unfortunately though, before long the bubblegum note barges in wearing a frilly pink tutu and stomps all over everything, leaving a big pink sticky mess. I do not like bubblegum. At all. Perfect for your 12 year old daughter to wear to her ballet dance recital.
Side note: at no point do I smell even a hint of rose.
Not for me, but recommend to bubblegum lovers.
I get a blast of rose in the bottle, with slightly creamy grapefruit-bubblegum soda as the backdrop (not sure I want to try that flavor!). The grapefruit is much stronger than I expected, and it has crazy strong throw on application. I’m a bit shocked. I rolled some on right before I went out shopping and as soon as I got in the car, my friend was asking why I smelled like grapefruit. It’s weird too because he normally can’t pinpoint my fragrances. I also still smell a lot of rose. I keep seeing people say this was foodie/ gourmand and I disagree. It’s still a floral at heart, despite the back notes. It’s also SOUR, which doesn’t jive for me at all. I’m not crazy about it. The grapefruit is too astringent for my nose. I want to like it, but I keep getting washed over by sour rose and I just can’t hang. The extreme dry down is much better, turning into just citrusy cream soda. I’d be happy wearing this stage all the way through. Definitely swapping. I don’t like florals, and this version of grapefruit doesn’t like me. I’ve had a very different experience than most people describe on both this one and Citrine.
Have you tried smoky quartz? I just received a sample today!! Uhh it smells like this description to me, unless the dragons blood f/ smoky smells like bubble gum & classic 80 perfume.. that flirty rose.
