I honestly didn’t get any incense from this and instead got a heavy makeup scent and gourmand vanilla. I was really looking forward to this one but honestly didn’t love it 😦
This is incredible. I received a dram of this in a swap, and I can’t stop smelling my wrist. Upon first application, I get a rich fresh rose. It’s not ‘light’–but it’s definitely not a stuffy potpourri rose. It’s a red red rose, and within minutes it’s backed up by a musk base. It also has sweetness to it, due to the vanilla, but I wouldn’t say this is gourmand per se. Also, while the scent was developing in the first 30 minutes or so, I almost smelled honeysuckle?? But that’s faded back away, so it may have just been the vanilla or musk accord.
I have so many perfumes, but if I ran out of this dram I’d rebuy for sure. That’s saying a lot for me!
Man, I wish I had blind bought this in a full-size right off the bat! I can’t stop sniffing myself! I normally don’t do rose, but this is just so, so good. This rose is bold, nuanced, and rather sexy. It doesn’t feel old or stuffy at all (my personal associations with rose). The incense is unexpected and combined with that bourbon vanilla note (that I now know I’m a sucker for), it sweetens and twists this fragrance into something completely new. I think the red musk is also tempering the sweetness of the vanilla, so there’s a perfect balance of sultry and innocent. It’s quite seductive. I imagine a mysterious woman dressed to the nines and hailing a cab to embark on an adventurous evening wearing this… Holly Golightly would wear this! Favorite.
Agreed that the incense here is similar to Cozy Sweater! It opens with incense, violet, and rose in a very heady “make up” scent. It’s almost fuzzy. After an hour or two, the bourban vanilla really hits and makes for a very sexy scent.
Something in this reminds me of Cozy Sweater from Haus of Gloi, the same incense perhaps? That red musk is so wonderful! So bright and deep. There’s lots of rose here, but it’s not grandmotherly at all. My first instinct is that I don’t like this, but at the same time, I was really drawn to it, couldn’t stop huffing my wrists. It’s very sexy and I’ll wear it again for sure.
