I got this on a whim during a HoG sale in the Pumpkin Butter format (a holy grail moisturizer for me). I came for the carnation. Nelke did not disappoint. I’ve been blowing through this jar so fast. On me this is mainly carnation with woody hints of mahogany and fragrant anise. This lotion makes a wonderful base layer for sooooo many of my perfume oils. I don’t know if this is worth mentioning but I’ve found HoG’s scents last longer on my skin in PB format versus perfume oil. I don’t know if others have had the same experience or it’s a me thing, lol. Scents in perfume oil format also last much longer on me versus alcohol extrait scent format. I’ve always read it’s the other way around but definitely not on me. Back to Nelke, I highly recommend this is you’re a fan of carnation. I haven’t tried Nelke in perfume oil format but from my experiences with other scents from HoG, the oils and PB’s have smelled identical. If you’re a fan of carnation, this is a good one in my opinion.
