  1. Started off as a warm, spicy pot of boiling fruit and morphed into a gross, musty mahogany blend with residual spiciness and a feeling of decay.

  2. I grabbed Northern Cardinal for the pear note. Strangely enough, I couldn’t detect any pear but this ended up being a “love” for me. All of the other notes showed up to the party. The spiced red currant preserves is divine and this blend ends up becoming something much more special than the sum of it’s parts. Props to Forest’s blending skills. Maybe the pear is there but my nose just can’t single it out, maybe it’s my skin chemistry, who knows? Northern Cardinal is still going strong at the 8 hour mark on my skin and I can smell it for days after on my sheets and clothing. This is a sweet scent but I wouldn’t go as far as to call it a gourmand. Of course in my mind, it’s only a gourmand if it makes me hungry. Before I even tried this, I had it in my mind from the notes that this was a cold weather scent. It’s mid July and I’ve been rocking NC for several days in the heat with no problems. I don’t really pay attention to any “perfume rules” though. I wear whatever tickles my fancy for the day, my scent choice has more to do with my mood than anything. It’s cool that Forest makes scents to wear with certain intentions or moods in mind. I hope NC makes it to their Continuous List.

  3. This is really lovely. It’s warm and comforting. I can smell the pralines perfectly mixed with the sugary wood and maple, all of which come out with just enough resinous sweetness. The currants are lightly-spicy and warm with the pear adding an interesting touch. It’s very cohesive overall and does give the feeling of being around a woodland area.
