Chevalier Vert

Brand: Olympic Orchids

Scent Description: This rhubarb-themed scent started out as a bespoke perfume made for a customer who has been kind enough to give permission to release it into my line. It is inspired by the “Green Knight” of Arthurian legend, a sort of ambivalently magical chivalrous hero intermixed with an ancient Celtic god, the “Green Man”. The scent contains the green, slightly melancholy notes of a spring garden. Released May, 2017. Notes: citrus, rhubarb, tomato leaf, armoise, violet leaf, violet, orris, and peony, Sichuan pepper, and soft woods.

  1. I actually love this one, and strongly considered getting a full size, but it just didn’t last very long on me at all. However, the scent is really amazing- mainly green tomato leaves and the most amazing tart rhubarb note. I never knew I needed to smell like rhubarb, but here we are. Bright, citrusy, slightly floral, like a vegetable garden in the sunlight.

  2. I had high hopes for this – initially it was a lovely bright green scent with some spiciness from the tomato leaf – but something went Wrong, and it ended up smelling quite vegetal and almost salad-like on me. I was hoping for a nice balance of greenery and florals but the greenery was just too funky and vegetal for me, completely took over from any hopes of a floral appearance.
