  1. Applied wet this is a fruity, (almost peachy?) jammy cookie scent. but as it dries it becomes allll apricot (which I adore!). This is one of the most realistic apricot preserves notes I’ve smelled, it’s really perfect, and the cookie not isn’t just a simplistic, sugary scent – it’s actually warm, and feels like it wams every note in the scent without overpowering them. It is buttery and welcoming, and I do feel absolutely embraced! I will note, that I actually really didn’t like this when I first got it – it was waayyyy sweet and smelled a little artificial, but it had only rested a day or two. After a week it was more pleasant, buuuuut after 2 weeks?! Wow, it shines! I thought I’d be giving my sample to someone else but honestly, this is just a really comforting and helllaaa realistic shortbread scent. Delicious, delightful, delovely! Make sure you let this one rest!NOTE: Going to compare it quickly to “And to all a good night” as they’re quite similar in terms of notes. ATAAGN is much more biscuit-forward, where ensnare is fruity, preserve-forward. I think I prefer ensnare as it feels a little more complex to me? ATAAGN is lovely, classic, a lil boozy and great for Xmas night, but Ensnare I could see reaching for more often, after the holidays.

  2. Let me just just say – this is one of my very favourite perfumes. It’s AMAZING! I really really love this! Oh the apricot I get on initial application is soooo beautiful it’s like I’ve stepped into a warm kitchen filled with the scent of buttery baked goods and soft spices while they’re making apricot jam preserves still warm from the stove. Juicy jammy and very natural apricots. On initial application the apricots are more prominent and they’re supported by the beautiful and very warm base of buttery baked goods and soft spices. After a while the baked goods and soft spices and pumpkin shortbread come to the fore a little more and leave a super warm and cozy scent behind. This is such a perfect cozy yummy fall scent that I wish I had a full size right now. Since I took this picture last week I have finished my sample. Fans of Solstice Scents Kitchen will really love this one I think, the background is slightly reminiscent of kitchen but a jammy apricot top note.

  3. One dab and I want to stay in the kindly witch’s house and learn all about her locked away recipes as Embrace is a country cupboard of delights. I smell apricot preserves with a hint of orange marmalade, spiced maple syrup, buttered cookies and even the wood from a cupboard’s shelf. I don’t get pumpkin it’s more of the dulcet apricot with hidden maple syrup and spice amplifying on me with a dry down of realistic brown sugar and butter. I have come to adore the scent of apricots and cinnamon in my hair so I will be using Embrace in my unscented argan oil and escaping to a quaint warm country house when the winds howl this upcoming season.

  4. Okay, this is delightful. It starts with a rich apricot smell — it’s like opening a jar of apricot jam and inhaling deeply. Love it. As it dries, the scent slowly becomes more buttery, with a gorgeous shortbread note. Only as the apricot fades do I get a whisper of cinnamon. (I’ve had a mild reaction to cinnamon before, but this one doesn’t irritate my skin at all.) I found that it faded within a few hours to more of a skin scent, but a skin scent that lingered forever. I could smell it when I was awake in the middle of the night, staring at my ceiling (thanks, insomnia), and got a brief whiff the next morning. I’d definitely reapply if I wanted more throw (or a stronger dose of that gorgeous apricot) but I really appreciated the lingering scent.
