Wow the salt in this one jumps out at you immediately upon application. It’s so bizarre and surreal to smell this perfumey-ness along a saltiness. Once it dries I actually find this surprisingly lighter than I expected. It’s got a lighter sillage/throw than some of PULP’s other scents, but the notes are so intense that’s not necessarily a bad thing. This definitley smells sinister, and has a slight patchouliess perhaps? Definitley witchy, with the sliiiighttest hint of sweet maple, but I really have to inhale to find it. It is androgynous and I’m thinking my bf might enjoy this, but I think it’s a little dark for me. However, as it dries it does go a bit warm/woody on me, and is more pleasant. Same with Ensnare, this improved by 1000% after a longer resting period. I know these 2 were newer in her Autumn collection so maybe they needed a bit more time to develop!
I didn’t like this too much but after a year i enjoy it more. It is a salty base with a hint of apple. But more like apple skin not juice/flesh
This one is so interesting. On initial application I get a bit of blast of maple and Oud and I like it but I don’t love it BUT only a few minutes later it’s settled down into something very beautiful. Thematically it’s so on point it smells like a character springing a sweet but evil trap in a dark fairytale but it’s still a very wearable perfume. I like how this settles nicely after a couple of minutes and the wonderful proportions of this perfume settle in. It’s part maple, part smokey woods, part laudanum and cauldron smoke with a little bit of Oud, which is not a note I normally wear on my skin because it’s already potent and I tend to amp it but it works really well here and it enhances rather than drowns out the other notes.
Ensnare, teach me your ways! I smell like smokey peppered maple sugar and salted butterscotch. Now, this is marvellous and I love the resins that come out to play on the dry down with the amplifying maple sugar and butterscotch. There is certainly something naughty in this with a bit of leather and an almost acidic-balsamic entwined pine which is giving all the aforementioned sweet notes something wickedly grounding and unique. Good thing I have fallen under Ensnare’s spell because she lasts a good 15+ hours and I’m perfectly okay with that.
