I smell something fresh and floral, with a little bit of something that is hard to describe. Herbal is the best word that comes to mind. It’s a clean smell, with vanilla adding sweetness at the end of each sniff. Seeing the notes, I think I’m getting more orchid than vanilla, and the oud must be what smells herbal to me, and the “chilling” note could be what gives it such a clean feel overall. After several hours, it settles out to the same oud that is mostly overshadowed by sweet vanilla.
On my skin, I wasn’t wowed… initially. It really grew on me! This is a distinctly green scent to me, like freshly cut flower stems. The vanilla orchid is soft and lovely… reminiscent of standing near a blooming garden, but not directly in it. The oud is interesting and a little dirty, and, as usual, keeps me coming back for more. It strikes me as a much tamer cousin of Zombie Apocalypse, which is a favorite of mine.
I don’t get too much floral from this one, I mostly get the “black”, vanilla bean, and oud. The oil format lasts around 6-7 hours.
