I have too agree with Karlen’s husband on his opinion about this smelling like “Halloween waffles”. It’s not a bad thing, I just hoped that this would have more of a gingersnap aroma to it. I’m a fan and while I get whiffs individual notes at the beginning, after 30 minutes, this turns into waffles with maple syrup. Superior longevity on this bad boy! If you’re a fan of waffles then try this but if you prefer the smell of pancakes then go with Sunday Mourning.
Edit…I meant Karlen’s SO not hubby. Sorry, too many hours on the computer and my eyes are tired 😉
My SO walked into the room when I had this on and said, “Smells like Halloween waffles!” Haha. So, apparently this smells maple syrupy on me! I ended up destashing this one. If I wanted to smell like waffles, I’d just put on Stranger Things!
Meh. Not understanding the hype on this one right now. It however does need rest.
Fresh wet it smelled like FIREBALL -.- yuck.
One it dried down a bit I get cinnamon, wood. This is going to need ALOT of rest. Kind of bummed out.. I usually click with all Hex until as of late. I keep sniffing my wrist and hoping time has done it some favors, nope. Now it’s just a spicy, clove treat. I would say this makes a great dupe for ‘leaves falling like rain’
Lightly sweet, woody, smoky, and a little spicy. Smoky fireplace, woody notes, sweet gingersnap cookies, earthy clove, warm amber, and hints of patchouli and vanilla. Not smelling any sandalwood.
I didn’t expect to like this at all. Cedar usually smells like hamster cage and smoky scents usually smell like barbecue to me. I was even concerned about the gingersnaps because gingerbread notes usually include cinnamon, which I dislike. However…. I am madly in love with this. I don’t really smell any cedar – just general woody notes and the smoky note truly does smell like a fireplace. No barbecue here! Also, there’s NO cinnamon in the gingersnaps! Only deliciously spicy ginger! Like curling up in front of a glowing fire in a wood cabin with a plate of freshly baked gingersnap cookies sitting beside you.
LOVE!!! I especially recommend this to anyone who enjoys smoke, wood, or sweet atmospheric scents, BUT I honestly feel like everyone should give this a try. I wasn’t really expecting to like it, but it turned out to be my favorite Hexennacht scent so far.
Once the alcohol smell goes away, it smells like a mildly spiced cookie sitting on a wooden mantel. The cedarwood/ sandalwood combo is prominent. I don’t smell any distinct patchouli; I think the wood and spices are swallowing/ merging with it. I’m surprised that I get the gingersnap feel at all since that and clove are the last notes listed on the description. As it sits, that cookie impression fades away, leaving a sort of nondescript spiced sandalwood. This is a perfectly nice blend, but it’s more wood than anything, and I’m left wanting.
