  1. Upon my first sniff of the vial, CEDAR! And something sour. After applying this scent, some sweetness comes out, and the sour element is identifiable as plum. The pepper is warm and a bit spicy. I don’t get much clove. After drying down, I mostly get warm cedar. The sweetness has faded and I smell a sourness from the plum, which feels a bit discordant. The pepper adds a nice warmth. If the plum note were a juicy, super sweet plum, I think I would like this scent better.

  2. This reminds me of Solstice Scents White Fox except Great Northern is spicier and more cedar heavy at first. I like it a lot. I find that it benefitted from resting. When I first got my sample it was too heavily cedar. I rested it for a couple weeks and it really mellowed.

  3. I love the cedar note in this. At the beginning it is lots of cedar and clove, and then peppercorn comes out after an hour or so. I can’t smell any plum, which is a little disappointing because it’s one of my favourite notes, but overall Great Northern is still a lovely warm spicy wood scent for winter, so I’m not too mad.

  4. I think the cedar and clove reacted strangely to my skin because I swear I picked out something foresty, like fir or juniper, for the first couple minutes. It became kind of soapy and I was never able to pick out the peppercorns. The plum was the only note that played nice for me- nice and purple and juicy.

  5. I picked this one half because of the notes and half because Canada lol. This one starts out very woodsy, the cedarwood being most prominent. Wafts of clove come in after about an hour of wear. In the afternoon the peppercorns come out with a background of clove and maybe a tinge of plum (like when you smell the outside skin of a plum)

  6. I didn’t expect to like this one as much as I did. It smells much better on my skin than in the bottle. I was surprised to get plum, though it took a little while to come out. A few of the reviews I read said it wasn’t much there. It’s a nice woody plum, but not as fruity as Beloved. The cedar note is just lovely, and the pepper and clove add a mild spiciness.
