The Damned Flower

Brand: Possets

Scent Description: The florin was the official coin of Florence, the iris was stamped on every florin as the official symbol of the city. An iris appeared on every coin of all denominations. Here I take the idea of iris literally, having it be the centerpiece for this sophisticated and high-keyed, dry and grown up blend. Too imperious to be floral. The florin takes shape and earthy musks and combines them through myrtle and adds a drape of orris (dried iris root). The result is a heavenly unique perfume.

Released: Permanent Blends

  1. I’ve had luck with iris in the past. My great Aunt always had fresh cut irises in her house and the smell takes me back. Unfortunately, here’s a sour note that develops on my skin and sticks around for about an hour or so. I don’t know what it is and it does dissipate eventually but, I just can’t get past that strange “off” smell to enjoy this. It’s a shame because once it calms down on me it’s really quite lovely.
